Welcome to the Home Page for the Deacons'
Wives & Families of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. This site is to serve
as a resource for information and communication with the
community of Deacons' Wives in the Atlanta Archdiocese. We encourage you to
browse our new website and offer any suggestions you may have
of areas that would be of help to you, as a Deacon's
Wife. Although
our initial focus will be the wives, as we grow, we will
extend information about the Deacon's
Family.
"When the Second Vatican Council renewed the
Order of Deacons as a permanent part of the ordained ministry
of the Catholic Church, it also permitted that married men
might be ordained to this ministry. The result of this
decision has been that over 90 percent of the more than 30,000
deacons around the world are married with families. More than 12,000
deacons- most of whom are married- live and minister here in
the United States." (Wives of Deacons Ordinary Women,
Extraordinary Wives).

designed for YOU!
You will find information about our Deacon's Wives and
Families Steering Committee, Spiritual Direction, our
Mentoring Program, Books and Resources, Prayer Line Requests,
and Opportunities to be and have a Prayer Partner. Our Steering Committee
is only a year old and as continue to organize our committee
to aid "steering the focus" of our wives community, we also
will be able to strengthen the communication within our
deaneries, we want our opportunities to communicate, pray, and
be together to grow.
We are very blessed and our website will serve as a
centralized consistent communication with our wives. In addition, it will
serve as a viable resource for you.
